Death and Cremation Premieres at 20th Century Fox

I attended my first red carpet premiere last night at Fox Studios in Century City. Along side my wife Meg, her mother and sister, and a few talented friends who helped me undertake my first feature film score, I watched Death and Cremation make its big screen debut in a 500 seat theater, filled nearly to capacity. In my life, there have been a few surreal moments that I hope to hold onto forever – those moments when you close your eyes and say to yourself, “Wow, this is really happening.”. Last night was one of them.

Text to screen tomorrow at LA Shorts Fest

Just a quick note to announce that Text will screen tomorrow night at the Laemmle Sunset 5 as part of the 14th annual Los Angeles International Short Film Festival. That's two years in a row that one of my films has been selected! I'm almost sure it has nothing to do with the music but I'm gonna go ahead and smile anyway.

From the Ground Up

A step-by-step look at how to build a fully-functional studio in six days.

First, you find yourself a nice, empty space and buy a lot of wood. Seriously, as much as you can fit into your pick-up.

Convince your dad and Uncle Mike that its a good idea to drive across the state to work for the weekend.

Con your friends into helping. Oh, and be ready to drink a lot of beer.

Build a floor and some walls.

Nail them all together.

Fill it all with insulation.

Throw up some sheet rock.

Con more friends into helping (remember, lots of beer).

Mud and tape.

Primer the walls and hang the door.

Lay down some carpet tiles (More friends).

Paint the walls to your liking.

Throws up a little molding for contrast.

Next thing you know...

you've got your own...

little slice of heaven.

Endless thanks to my friends and family who helped make this happen.
